Been Really Mad Lately?

A new Obama czar has come to the forefront and time for more conservative action to get this agenda stopped NOW!  Okay.  Maybe I stretched it a little.  He’s not a REAL czar, but with something like this, it doesn’t really matter because the appointment does not require legislative oversight.  In other words, the Senate didn’t do any vetting of him.

He once boasted that he introduced homosexual advocacy into the school system in Massachusetts by manipulating the message presented to lawmakers.  Did you get that?  He manipulated the message presented to lawmakers.  He introduced homosexual advocacy into the Massachusetts school system.  Could something like this be coming to a school near you?

As Sarah Palin would say, “You betcha!”  You see, the person doing the boasting is Kevin Jennings who was recently named assistant deputy secretary for the office of Safe & Drug Free Schools in the U.S. Department of Education.  That’s right – he’s the Obama administration’s choice to monitor school safety.

An article in WND.COM says that Jennings is the founder and former executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network.  Their website says that the mission of GLSEN  is “to develop school climates where difference is valued for the positive contribution it makes in creating a more vibrant and diverse community. We welcome as members any and all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or occupation, who are committed to seeing this philosophy realized in K-12 schools.”

Kindergartners need to be worrying about things other than the politically correct definition of homosexuality.  They shouldn’t even be able to pronounce the word at that age, much less have one of their classmates say that he or she is gay.  At that age, children would have to be told that they are gay by an adult, and what adult babysitting a child is going to tell that child that he is gay and still be babysitting that child tomorrow?

In 1995, Jennings gave a speech called “Winning the Culture War” at the Human Rights Campaign Fund Leadership Conference.  In that speech, Jennings said he was concerned about being described as promoting homosexuality, so he chose to campaign on the idea of “safety” instead.

“If the radical right can succeed in portraying us as preying on children, we will lose. Their language – ‘promoting homosexuality’ is one example – is laced with subtle and not-so-subtle innuendo that we are ‘after their kids,’” he told the conference.

“We must learn from the abortion struggle, where the clever claiming of the term ‘pro-life’ allowed those who opposed abortion on demand to frame the issue to their advantage, to make sure that we do not allow ourselves to be painted into a corner before the debate even begins.”

He knows the power of the “radical right”.  I guess he means you and me.

His speech continued, “In Massachusetts the effective reframing of this issue was the key to the success of the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth. We immediately seized upon the opponent’s calling card – safety – and explained how homophobia represents a threat to students’ safety by creating a climate where violence, name-calling, health problems, and suicide are common. Titling our report ‘Making Schools Safe for Gay and Lesbian Youth,’ we automatically threw our opponents onto the defensive and stole their best line of attack. This framing short-circuited their arguments and left them back-pedaling from day one.”

American’s For Truth About Homosexuality writes, “Get ready for a political fight. Appointing Kevin Jennings, a vicious homosexual activist, to head up a “Safe Schools” project for American youth would be like appointing David Duke to head up a national panel on racial reconciliation. ”

AFTAH quotes from a speech Jennings made at the famous Marble Collegiate Church in New York City on March 20, 2000 giving his assessment of how to deal with “religious conservatives:”

“Twenty percent of people are hard-core fair-minded [pro-homosexual] people. Twenty percent are hard-core [anti-homosexual] bigots. We need to ignore the hard-core bigots, get more of the hard-core fair-minded people to speak up, and we’ll pull that 60 percent [of people in the middle] over to our side. That’s really what I think our strategy has to be. We have to quit being afraid of the religious right. We also have to quit — I’m trying to find a way to say this. I’m trying not to say, ‘[F—] ‘em!’ which is what I want to say, because I don’t care what they think! [audience laughter] Drop dead!”

This is the agenda Obama is promoting by approving the naming of this man, Kevin Jennings (remember that name!) to a post as an assistant deputy secretary in the Department of Education.  Obama IS connected to Jennings – he was a fundraising co-chair for the Obama campaign.  Payback time.  Care to know how successful he was in Massachusetts?  Read this.
